This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of boards, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for HDD repair or data recovery tasks. Confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by using our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique ROM data that is essential for the drive to function; the ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board or the board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the ROM chip. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement with the needed ROM information.
