Item is the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery use. Before purchasing, verify that a replacement board will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs hold unique configuration data in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for proper drive operation; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
