This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the actual hard drive is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: replacement PCB for data recovery and HDD repair. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will address your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide. Also verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Important: most HDD PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. You must transfer the ROM chip or its data to the replacement board. If the ROM can be physically moved to the new PCB, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. We offer assistance: purchases of $60 or more qualify for our complimentary adaptation service, which includes either moving the ROM chip to the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
