This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no HDD is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in data recovery or hard drive repair. Most WD PCBs store essential, unique information in the ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for proper drive operation and must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
