This replacement board is intended for data recovery and hard drive repair on WD SATA 3.5" drives. To ensure a PCB swap will resolve your problem, follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in the ROM "memory" chip that is required for correct drive operation; the ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the new circuit board. If you cannot move the chip yourself, a local computer professional should be able to perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we offer a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
