This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of boards, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery purposes. Before ordering, confirm a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store essential, drive-specific data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. When physical transfer of the chip is possible, a qualified local computer technician can usually perform the procedure. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
