This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before ordering, confirm that replacing the circuit board will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Western Digital PCBs contain unique factory data stored on a ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
