This listing is for a hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. We maintain a large inventory of PCBs, so the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for hard drive repair and data recovery, this PCB is intended as a replacement part. Many hard drive circuit boards store unique configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either move the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
