This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This replacement PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery purposes. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB swap will address your problem by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed). If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transferring the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
