This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. We stock a large quantity of replacement PCBs, so the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Many WD PCBs store unique configuration in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate properly. The ROM chip (or its data) must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a qualified local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customer convenience, purchases of $60 or more include complimentary adaptation service — we will either transplant the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
