This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Due to large inventory, the actual PCB shipped may vary slightly from the photo. This board is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery projects. Most PCBs contain unique configuration data on a ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If a ROM chip transplant is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the procedure. For purchases of $60 or more we offer a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
