This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — no hard drive is included. The printed circuit board is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery projects. Because we fulfill orders from a large stock, the actual PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photographed unit. Before purchasing, confirm compatibility by consulting our Donor Matching Guide and run through the Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide to determine whether a replacement PCB will resolve your issue. Most WD PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If physical transfer of the chip is feasible, a local computer technician can typically perform the soldering or transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
