This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the specific board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for hard drive repair and data-recovery work. Many HDD circuit boards contain unique data stored in the ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement PCB (or the new board must be programmed with the correct ROM data). If transferring the chip is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the procedure. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
