This sale is for the hard drive circuit board / logic board only — no hard drive is included. We keep a large inventory of PCBs, so the item you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for hard drive repair and data-recovery work, this PCB is a replacement part for WD drives. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most of these circuit boards contain a unique ROM (memory) chip that stores essential drive-specific data required for normal operation. That ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board for the drive to function properly. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
