This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These circuit boards are supplied for hard drive repair and data-recovery purposes. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB replacement will address your drive’s problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either relocates the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the new board with the correct ROM data.
