This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the specific board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for use in data recovery and hard drive repair. Most HDD PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service which covers either relocating the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
