This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of boards, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for HDD repair and data-recovery work, this board should be used only after confirming it is the correct replacement for your drive. Most WD PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for proper operation; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant; alternatively, for purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the board with the correct ROM data.
