This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB/logic board) only — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique data in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for correct drive operation; the ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
