This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for use in HDD repair and data recovery. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement PCB is the correct fix by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be relocated, a local computer repair technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers whose purchase totals $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
