Item is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we carry a large stock of PCBs, the actual board shipped may differ slightly from the pictured unit. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB replacement will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique information in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved or copied to the replacement board — if the chip can be transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the task. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service, which includes either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
