This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no drive is included. Because we keep a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or HDD repair. Most hard drive PCBs store unique ROM data on a memory (ROM) chip that the drive requires to function. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board for proper operation. If you cannot perform the transfer, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
