This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks, this PCB is a replacement part and may require additional steps for proper operation. Most drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function. The ROM chip (or its contents) must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
