This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large inventory of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery, this PCB should be used only after confirming compatibility. Please use our Donor Matching Guide to verify the part matches your drive, and follow the Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide to determine whether a replacement PCB will resolve the problem. Many drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; this ROM contents are required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip, or its data, must therefore be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
