This listing is for a hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. We keep a large inventory of PCBs, so the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: HDD repair and data recovery. Many WD PCBs contain unique ROM data that is required for the drive to operate properly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board for correct functionality. If you cannot transfer the ROM yourself, a local computer technician can often desolder and move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
