Item is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If chip transplant is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the move. For customers who spend $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
