Item is the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — the actual hard drive is not included. Because we keep large quantities in stock, the PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for use in data recovery or as a repair part for a compatible drive. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Western Digital PCBs store unique system data in a ROM chip; that ROM data is required for correct operation. The ROM chip itself, or the ROM data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
