This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement circuit boards are sold for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique calibration and firmware data in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip (or its contents) must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant.
