This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we keep a large inventory of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery situations. Many hard drive PCBs contain a unique ROM "memory" chip that stores information required for proper drive operation; that ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
