This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery tasks. Before buying, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive circuit boards store unique configuration in the ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be moved to the replacement board; if a physical transplant is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform it. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
