This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we keep a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery work. Most hard drive PCBs store unique information in a ROM ("memory") chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either relocating the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
