This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the actual hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly in appearance from the photo. The PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by consulting our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM “memory” chip; that data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot move the chip yourself, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers with orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
