This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we keep a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or hard drive repair. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Important: many hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration information in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board, or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If the ROM chip can be physically moved to the replacement PCB, a local computer technician can usually perform that task. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
