This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repairs. Most PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM (the ROM "memory" chip). That ROM or its data must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board for the drive to operate correctly. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
