This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks, this PCB is intended as a replacement part for compatible WD drives. Important: many hard drive PCBs hold unique information in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for normal drive operation. That ROM chip—or its contents—must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either transplant the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
