This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement PCBs are intended for use in data recovery and hard drive repair situations. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique settings in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for normal operation; that ROM or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service which includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
