This listing is for the hard drive logic board (PCB) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we hold a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement circuit boards are intended for HDD repair and data-recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm a PCB swap will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most HDD PCBs contain a unique ROM ("memory") chip that stores critical drive-specific parameters; that data is required for correct operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
