Product is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This circuit board is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs store unique calibration and configuration in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If relocating the chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
