This sale includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is provided. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement circuit boards are intended for HDD repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will address your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most HDD PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can normally perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either relocating the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
