This item is the hard drive PCB (printed circuit board / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. We maintain a large inventory of PCBs, so the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This replacement PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Western Digital PCBs contain unique information stored in the ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to operate correctly; that ROM data must be transferred or restored onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
