This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for HDD repair and data recovery, this replacement board can be used when performing diagnostics or donor matching. Most hard drive circuit boards include unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred or written to the replacement PCB. If chip transplant is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the procedure. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service: we will either move the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
