This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide. Also verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to operate correctly. That ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers who prefer we handle it, purchases of $60 or more include a complimentary adaptation service — we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
