This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB/logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board shipped may differ slightly from the pictured item. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. Most hard drive PCBs store unique firmware/parameters in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM or its data must be moved or copied to the replacement board for the drive to function correctly. If transplanting the ROM chip is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the procedure. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transferring the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
