This product is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we have a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. To confirm that a replacement PCB will solve your issue, please use our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs include unique information stored in the ROM "memory" chip; this data is required for the drive to operate properly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
