This listing is for a hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we carry a large inventory of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the pictured unit. Use this PCB for HDD repair or data recovery tasks. Prior to purchasing, confirm a PCB swap will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide and checking compatibility via the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs contain a unique ROM ("memory") chip that stores essential data for proper drive operation. That ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician should be able to move the chip. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either physically moves the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
