This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock large quantities, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most hard drive PCBs store unique information in a ROM ("memory") chip; that data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be moved to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform that procedure. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
