The Blue Victron Skylla-TG 24/30 GMDSS charger, model SDTG2400302, is listed under Power Sources as SKU sku-5578224975. The battery and GMDSS system connect directly to the charger. It sends monitoring data and alarms to a separately ordered VE.Net GMDSS panel through an eight-wire UTP cable. GMDSS was developed by the International Maritime Organisation to improve maritime distress and safety communications. The Skylla TG is used as a battery charger and power supply for GMDSS applications; a standard Skylla charger needs additional monitoring and alarm equipment. The GMDSS panels are pre-programmed, with a menu for changing settings. A built-in battery controller monitors capacity and can display battery time to go during a power outage. Charge voltage is adjustable for VRLA or flooded batteries. Input: 120 / 230 V AC, with a 90-265 V AC range, 45-65 Hz frequency and power factor of 1. Absorption voltage is 28,5 V DC; float voltage is 26,5 V DC. Charge current is 30 A, limited to 22 A at 110 V AC. The IUoUo charge characteristic is three-step. The charger has a temperature sensor, forced cooling and a power-supply function. Operating range is -40 to +50 degrees C (-40 to 122 degrees F), with maximum 95% non-condensing humidity. The aluminium enclosure is blue RAL 5012. Battery connections use two 1,5 m cables; the GMDSS connection uses one 1,5 m cable, with the positive connection taken directly from the battery.
