Overview: The BlueSmart IP67 is a Bluetooth-enabled 12VDC battery charger from Victron Energy (model BPC121315106) delivering 13 amps. Use the wireless connection to monitor voltage and current, adjust settings, and receive firmware updates — matching much of the functionality offered by Victron’s IP22 and IP65 chargers. Rugged, weatherproof construction: The charger is fully encapsulated — waterproof, shockproof and ignition protected. The housing is cast aluminium and the electronics are moulded in resin, so exposure to water, oil or dirt will not harm the unit. High efficiency and low standby consumption: Setting a new standard, the BlueSmart IP67 achieves 92% efficiency or better. When batteries are fully charged the charger’s power draw drops to less than a Watt, dramatically reducing heat and wasted energy compared with typical chargers. Smart charging: A microprocessor-controlled, adaptive 5-stage charge algorithm (bulk – absorption – recondition – float – storage) automatically optimises charging based on how the battery is used. Storage mode reduces maintenance and ageing when batteries are unused: if a battery has not been discharged for 24 hours the float voltage is lowered to 2,2 V/cell (13,2 V for a 12 V battery) to cut gassing and positive plate corrosion. Weekly the charger raises voltage to absorption level to equalize the battery, preventing electrolyte stratification and sulphation. Compatibility and safety: The unit also charges Li-ion (LiFePO4) batteries using a simple bulk – absorption – float routine. It is protected against overheating and will continue to operate in hot environments such as machine rooms; output current will reduce as temperature rises, up to 60°C, rather than failing. Status indicators: Two LEDs provide operational feedback. Yellow LED indicates charging phase — bulk (blinking fast), absorption (blinking slow), float (solid) and storage (off).
