The gauge is listed as 52mm (2-1/16") and has a 100 mm outer size (100mm), with an 85mm mounting hole. Its black-glass face has a brushed stainless-steel ring, a mineral-color 1.44-inch TFT display readable in sunlight, and a configurable 3000 or 4000 RPM dial scale.
It displays engine, battery, tank and GPS data. The built-in GNSS receiver has stated 2.5m accuracy and supplies speed, compass and position data. Engine information and alarms come from the SAE J1939 bus or can be set through the menu. Front and back have an IPX7 rating. The VMH-35 D works with 12V and 24V systems; EasyLink supports additional Veratron VMH 14 satellite displays.
It can show rudder angle, trim, coolant, engine speed and seawater temperature. An NMEA 2000 gateway sends sensor inputs to devices such as chartplotters without an additional converter. Stated power draw is 170mA.
