Ask about the product itself, especially details another customer may know from using it. For example: Does this camera take good pictures in low light? How long does this laptop battery last while watching movies? Does this computer have noisy cooling fans?

Turning Point Propellers model 31431730 (sku-48658861; UPC 652480200731) is a Multicolor Boating propeller listed as Unisex, with a 13.25" size. This right-hand Express Mach4 stainless steel propeller is EX1/EX2-1317-4, with 4 blades, a 13.25" diameter and 17 pitch. Its swept-cleaver design is made for 40-150hp applications.

Turning Point reports improved hole shot, handling and rough-water stability without the top-end speed loss it attributes to other manufacturers' propellers. It reports up to 46% more reverse thrust than comparable designs in recent tests.

The company recommends the series for acceleration, cornering and carrying loads on watersports boats, sterndrives, tri-toons, bay boats and vessels that benefit from stern lift. It also describes the series as an upgrade for older stainless designs from the 70's, 80's, 90's and '00's, and says it can outrun most newer propellers, including five-blade ski propellers.

The TP17 stainless steel is formulated for Express Mach3 and Mach4 designs. Turning Point says it has 20% more chromium, is almost 250% stronger and is 5X more durable than ordinary stainless steel. Its propeller housings have large exhaust ports; the company reports 40% more exhaust-flow area than competing products and says reduced backpressure can increase horsepower.

Express propellers are offered for 9.9(bigfoot)-300+hp Evinrude, Force, Honda, Johnson, Mariner, Mercruiser, Mercury, Nissan, OMC, Parsun, Suzuki, Tohatsu, Volvo Penta and Yamaha outboards and sterndrives. The range includes 3- and 4-blade models, left- and right-hand rotation, and multiple diameter and pitch choices.

A hub kit is required for installation; consult the Turning Point Selection Chart or Prop Wizard for kit selection. MasterGuard installation kits are offered with a lifetime warranty.
