Can this valve lock be used for other types of valve handles? This gate valve lock is primarily designed for gate valves with round or oval-shaped handles, hence the circular design of this lockout. It may work on other types of valve handles, depending on the size and shape. 2. Can this be used outside where it may be exposed to severe weather conditions? TRADESAFE gate valve lockouts are made of industrial-strength ABS plastic, precision-engineered to withstand heavy and repeated industrial applications. It doesn't break nor melt easily and can persist in temperatures ranging from -51 to 300 °F. 3. Does this lockout tagout valve come with a padlock? No, these gate valve locks are sold as single units. We have LOTO locks in 8 different colors sold separately. 4. Can this be used for valve handles in ON/OFF positions? Yes. It doesn’t matter what is the position of the gate valve handle as long as the gate valve lockouts can fit. 5. How to install this locking gate valve? To install, position the valve lock over the valve handle, then close and secure it with a padlock. Ensure that the rear opening of the gate valve lock used is smaller than the diameter of the valve handle so it cannot be removed when secured.
